My Sunshines
Roman Eli
He has grown so much. It's such a bittersweet moment when I see throwbacks to 2013 and I see my little baby Roman. It feels like he's been here forever, but at the same time it seems like he should still be my baby. Now he has turned into such a little boy. Roman has not been the easiest to raise so far. Unfortunately, he's got his mom's stubbornness, but he also has a big heart like me too. As he grows I see more and more of his dad in him. From his intelligence to his handsome looks, I'm so happy to see more and more of his dad in him. He was also blessed with both of his parents' humor and he's seriously such a hilarious little boy. He has his moments (and when he does the whole house feels it), but he is still so kind. Within the last couple of months he has really started to get close to his little brother, Axel. They play so well together and it makes my heart happy. Roman is very stand-offish towards other kids. He's kind, but he wants his space. To see him secretly giving his brother hugs or getting right in Axel's face and smiling really big is such a huge thing for me. I had thought that once Axel got really mobile that Roman would be so upset and angry that his brother was following him everywhere, but to my surprise he absolutely loves it.

16 months has past and I can't believe you've been in our family for that long already! You learn something new everyday, just like your brother did. You love clapping your hands, clicking your tongue, and "booty hopping" to any sound that is a close representation of music with a beat. It's rare that I don't see your face smiling or hear your little giggle (even your fake giggle "ah uh!"). You say "momma" and "uh oh" the most and I can't seem to break you from the bottle. You also inherited the stubbornness and you still don't fully walk (4 steps is the most at a time) because of it and usually the only way to get you to is with either something new or food. Since you're stuck watching Paw Patrol in the car because your brother insists on watching it on car rides, you've grown to like acting like a dog carrying stuff around in your mouth while panting. You too, obviously have a good sense of humor. I'm so glad you still enjoy being snuggled, how just about any weird sound I produce makes you laugh, or just the littlest tickle (like running a hot wheel car over your back) will make you squirm and giggle. You love your big brother so much and I love watching you look up to him. You follow him all around the house and even when you take a toy from him just to hear him scream I love seeing the smile spread across your face. You love pushing toys like your lion walker, little mower, and your fire truck, but even when you don't have one of those you make do with toy pails or the pooh bear chair at Papa and Mama's house. You are very mischievous and always getting into something. In fact, I'm not sure why I waste my breath by saying "no no" because you only laugh and do it several more times. You look just like mommy, but pester just like your daddy.
You both make Daddy and Mommy's lives more interesting and worth living to the fullest. Everything we do is for you two and I hope you realize that one of these days. I pray you both grow to be the same kind-hearted, handsome, intelligent, goofy little boys. I love you both so much and I'm so proud of all of your accomplishments now and the ones to come.
My sunshines that keep me going everyday. ❤ ☀️
