Family // Life Update

It's so easy to get caught up in day-to-day routines and forget about living in the moment. I've slipped several times lately. Although makeup, beauty, blogging, and youtube are a big part of what I love doing now I still have to take that time to back away from blogging late at night, filming on the weekends, and editing so much. To top it off we have such a huge family that it constantly feels like we're on the move. Rest days barely happen and when they do I feel a twinge of anxiety from slacking and not getting more accomplished. The other tasks of housework, laundry, appointments, and planning the upcoming birthday have been exhausting. I have definitely felt like a juggling act lately. I'm not turning this blog into a pity one. This is just our "normal" right now. My family is my #1 and main priority so I want to start dedicating more time to US. I want the boys to have more experiences. Weekend getaways, planning a full summer vacation, and the in between family outings that I miss so much. This isn't a "taking a break" post, just a reminder to make sure you're living in the now. Enjoy your family, your babies, and take the extra time for them or you'll miss out on so much!
As for a life update, the boys are as mean as ever. Ha! They grow up so fast. They play a lot more together now than they ever have, but they also fight more. We definitely have two very strong opinionated, stubborn red-headed boys!
Our recent check up with their doctor had us laughing at the fact that Axe is only 10lbs. lighter than his big brother who is 2 1/2 years older.
Easter, dying eggs, and spring break were busy, but fun! We enjoyed seeing our family and seeing the boys love for the Easter traditions. They loved dying eggs. Roman was very into it this year and really tried to get them perfect. Axel on the other hand was throwing them, dunking them, and overall making a mess. Which in his opinion was more fun than anything. They did create such beautiful eggs, but I think Axel went with a more "cracked" egg look with his. During the egg hunt Roman was  falling behind because he wanted to open each egg to see what he got before throwing it into his basket and moving on to the other eggs. Axel on the other had was a pro! He was running after the eggs and tossing them into his basket. Roman ended up with 33 and Axel with 28!
Spring break was super busy. Another baby was added into our family and he is so precious! We did get some extra time with James before he went back to work and family time is always nice.

Roman (4 1/2)
We've had some concerns with Roman, so prayers are appreciated! We believe he really is just a stubborn little boy, but man it's tough. He has his ways and believe me there is no other way so don't try to convince him. He is so smart! Counting to 100, knows his shapes (even hexagon, octagon, trapezoid, etc.), and he's been practicing writing his ABC's still. Writing has been a challenge. It's one thing that he is just not that interested in. We have started early reading programs and he seems to really like those even thought he is mostly only picking up the character names. He has really gotten into art and drawing. Maybe he'll be an artist like my Dad. He likes drawing balloons and recently was drawing sunshines with smiles with his Mammy. He's not good at cleaning. This boys room is messy within 2 seconds! He doesn't make the best cleaning buddy either we end up doing most of the work! He has really enjoyed spending afternoons with his Daddy at the "school" while Daddy plans out his week and Mommy films. His current favorites are "Sing", "Boss Baby", "Paw Patrol", "Land Before Time 2", the dreaded "Pocoyo", and "Trolls." He quotes just about every word from Boss Baby even "chew chew on that" when he's being mean to us. He is a hilarious boy even when he's rotten. This boy loves his snacks. He has been loving pickle chips or Funyuns. He seriously is a bottomless pit. I can't believe 4 1/2 years has flown by. It feels like forever, but happened too soon.

Axel (23 mo.)
Axel is lacking on speech, but progresses more and more everyday. He is a paci baby and doesn't look like he'll be giving it up anytime soon. His newest saying is "Roman Eli!" I wonder where he hears that? Ha! In less than a month my baby will be 2! Although the "baby fever" has been back in full mode, Axel reminds me daily that he is still the only baby I need right now. He is definitely a handful. He loves getting into things he's not suppose to just as much as he loves the word "no." Does any 1 year old take that word seriously?! Axel is still all about nap time and bedtime. The boy loves his sleep and I'm okay with that! He is the early bird of the house and usually wakes us all by yelling at us or doing his high pitched shrill scream. We've just recently have stumbled into the not sharing phase and it's been rough. His meltdowns are about 34235452 hours long. This little guy still can have the biggest heart. He is such a mommy's boy still and I get to have those snuggles every (early) morning with him. His new thing is touching the tip of his pointer finger to ours like a handshake. It's so funny, but cute. He has become our picky eater and I'm not enjoying that. Planning meals for him is such a challenge! He has been counting "123" with us, loves dancing to music, and is always finding something to climb on. His current favorites are "The Lorax", "Boss Baby", "Trolls", "Mickey Mouse", and "Vampirina." He loves singing the "woah" part in the Vampirina theme song. He also loves showing us new dance moves with his brother to the ending credit music from the Lorax movie. We're planning his second birthday party and as of now I think it'll be Lorax theme. He loves this movie so much and gets excited to watch it before bed EVERY night. Axel also just got switched to forward facing in his carseat. Such a milestone and he was surer excited to sit like big brother! Is my baby even a baby anymore? Or just a toddler?..
Those faces! Dying Easter eggs.

Big boy facing forward!

He's pretty proud of himself! ;)

Don't mind the 3423 stuffed animals and toys, but these boys love stacking building blocks!
They also love running around in their undies (Roman) and diaper (AJ)!

AJ being sweet and rubbing bubby's head!

I love these handsome boys so much!
