Science Center Trip // 2019

The St. Louis Science Center is a place we love to visit with the boys every year. They offer so many cool exhibits for the boys (and honestly us too haha) to explore with a learning experience to go with it! Our oldest, Roman, absolutely loves learning about new things and taking in as much information as he possibly can. While Axel is at the age where he absorbs all things like a sponge so this year was a hit, to say the least!
I have shared a blog about our trip to the Science Center in 2017 if you want to check it out. They are constantly adding new things or changing things up which keeps our yearly visit interesting. Unfortunately, we didn't make it last year, but I'm so glad we did this year!
Upon arrival, you can't miss the huge dinosaurs in front of you! Even though they're down one story you can still spot the standing dinosaur from the upper floor. These dinosaurs have been here for so long! I remember seeing them as a child and I was terrified! Roman has always loved seeing them, but Axel (being the dinosaur fanatic that he is) was a little frightened at first, but still posed with them for a photo. He just made sure mommy was close by ha! He was so concerned about the wounded dinosaur. Bless his heart. They also have a section of facts about dinosaurs and fossils which was a hit for our little Axel!

From there you have environment and weather/natural disaster section where you can learn about tornados, earthquakes, etc. They make it so fun with hands-on experiences including a vapor tornado that you can touch and stimulation of an earthquake you can stand on and literally feel the vibrations.

There is also a whole section learning about energy and this year we noticed a big game room that we either looked over the last time or it was added within the past two years. The huge chessboard was so cool and the boys loved seeing all the games. It was a rather popular part of the whole center that day so we weren't able to explore all of it.
It was the same way in the "Maker Space" section, but we still found some cool things to do.

The Science Center is also known for being a Planetarium with a walkover inside the bridge that you can build arches (like the St. Louis Arch), learn about the actual Arch, watch the cars zooming by even with windows on the floor to look out of. That bridge takes you to a long hall filled with pictures of the moon and planets. Our Roman loves anything space themed (his room is themed space too!) and he was super excited to pose by the moon photo. My heart!

There are several things I didn't mention (we'd be here all day) or didn't show, but I definitely recommend checking it out if you're ever in the area with your kiddos!
We never pass up the Discovery room either. It is geared towards younger kids and requires tickets when you first enter the Science Center and you get close to an hour to explore this fun-packed room!
I did a vlog showing some of our time there including parts from the Discovery room if you would like to check it out: Science Center Trip

Before I end this rather long blog I did want to mention that they have a theater for shows and even limited-time exhibits (that we usually don't see with the little ones, but look really good!) for example they had the Pompeii exhibit going on while we were there!
