Roman's in Kindergarten! // School Year 2019-20

The past couple of years we've struggled with situations that I never thought we would have to. From getting help from a play therapist to trying new things with Roman... It has been a journey and not one that I have really shared publically. I'm all for keeping everyone in the know of things, but I guess I've just felt like this is Roman's personal info. Without going into too much detail of things the main issues we have worked on are social skills, communication, and little repetitive ticks. Although nothing has been major and any professional opinion we've gotten is "he is extremely smart and anything I've observed he will more than likely out-grow over time."
The reason I finally wanted to say anything is the fact that just in a year's time his progress has been so amazing! We're so very proud of Roman and relieved for sure. It has been a very trying few years so it feels so good seeing progress. He started a karate/exercise class a year ago and has been going since. He not only enjoys it so much, but this class has helped with every issue we were working through. He made friends that have helped with social skills. His relationship with his instructor has helped him with communication and prepare him for his new relationship with his teacher at school. It was one of the best decisions we could have done for Roman putting him in class and him to this day loves going.
Starting Kindergarten has been a little bit more of a rocky situation. Thankfully he loves his teacher and every day when we pick him up he is so proud of himself saying "I did so good at Kindergarten!" He tells us about his friends, school work, recess, and special classes like art and P.E.
We know he enjoys it, but the long days have been so hard on him.
We're a month into school and finally, feel like we're in a routine. It's still trying some mornings, but he's getting there. We value the weekends so much more now and it's so hard to make commitments to other people when we just want to soak up as much family time as possible!
With that all being said I posted a blog about Roman's 6th birthday that has more pictures of him and plan to write an update on both boys soon like I use to do. I still wanted to share some moments from his first day of school and catch back up on blogging memories like I use to do.

We're missing bubby every single day!
