The One Where My Kitchen Got a Makeover
The One Where My Kitchen Got a Makeover
'Friends' has always been my favorite show. I remember watching the first few seasons with my sister over and over when we were young because those were the seasons we had on DVD. Later on I, of course, watched them all and several times at that. If there was a rerun on I was watching it. Watching 'Friends' was a happy thing in my childhood and I tend to go back to it a lot because of that. If I'm needing a good laugh, maybe I'm sick, or even on my worst days when I need a pick me up. It's always 'Friends' that helps get me through. With that I have went years without a themed kitchen wracking my brain for ideas. All I knew was that I wanted simple, but bright and happy. We have moved a couple times now, but at the last house I finally decided I wanted a 'Friends' themed kitchen. I then started looking for decor ideas that were cute, but simple. At the time there wasn't much out there that I could find so I kept putting it off like most things. When we moved into this house I made up my mind to make it happen, but my kitchen is much smaller here. It's boxed off while being an open floor plan leading into the dining area. The problem is the counter space in limited so I had to go with other options. I found the most adorable water color prints on Etsy and knew it was the route to take.
With having the majority of the "decor" hanging on the wall it will leave me plenty of counter space with the small amount I do have so it was perfect, plus I absolutely LOVE them.

Coffee is a must have, favorite in this house. I love the Central Perk theme and wanted a dedicated corner for it and these prints pull it all together!
Please don't mind my one apple. I had everything staged and full fruit bowl then our dog, Riley chewed up my SD card with those photos so I had to retake the pictures after the boys had raided the fruit bowl. Haha! But you still get the idea of the prints hanging in the kitchen. I ended up printing more than I thought I would, but I couldn't decide which ones to not have in my kitchen. Ha! I did buy the whole collection so one of these days when I have more space I can have more if I want.
The frames were a cheap set from Amazon. I wanted something simple and although they aren't my favorite I really struggled with finding frames. It was the beginning of the Covid 19 and my options were limited to ordering online. I may change them out one of these days, but they work for now. I also had to include the yellow frame. I debated on where I wanted to hang it, but I felt it was perfect right over the stove. The heart of our kitchen. <3
To finish up I found a cute rug on Amazon, coasters on Etsy, and you may have seen my blog on recovering the bench with the 'Friends' fabric, but if not check it out. It all pulls together so nicely while not being too overwhelming in the small space. If you know of where I could find any little 'Friends' knickknacks let me know though. I love the idea of having the ceramic dog, a lobster, and chick & duck figurines. I just can't find things like that anywhere!
