Solar System Eggs // Dying Eggs 2020

Solar System Eggs // Dying Eggs 2020

Oh, the tradition of spending about an hour to two hours setting up stainable dyes, fragile eggs, and filmsy egg spoons that do nothing in front of two hyper, clumsy, boys of the age 6 and under. It's honestly a mess and 38274 cringes when a dye cup almost tips or when your 3 year old slam dunks the eggs in the dye. The the moment after seeing all their eggs placed in the container together.. Priceless.
To make things a little more interesting (especially since the boys are a little older now too) we decided to have a plan & theme using one of the Walmart cheap kits. We love space and the solar system in the house so this kit was perfect!

It started out as the normal dying eggs, which they do enjoy doing even though Axel's face says otherwise.  Hahaha. Then we tried the shrink wraps from the kit. The bonus with this kit was the learning experience they had. Axel was learning the names of the planets. Roman knows the solar system well, but we talked about fun facts of each planet and he got to see them laid out in order from the sun. For Roman it is always the same. To keep him interested make it entertaining and if there is new knowledge he can sink into that is even better. He loves learning!

Roman's eggs are the top & Axels are the bottom.
