Roman Eli | Turning 7
Roman Eli | Turning 7
Is this even real? I can't believe I have a 7 year old. This boy changed my life, for the better, but definitely has been a factor to my anxiety. Haha... What kid isn't though?! With Roman he has surprised us with his growth so much year after year. I forget how much he has overcome until I look back to what it was a year ago. He has grown so much. I know I brag about my kiddos.. I know. But this boy is a genius. It literally blows me away the knowledge he already has memorized.. (like photographic memory) and what he continues to soak up. I know they say "kids are like sponges. They soak up everything they see/hear." But that is a literal statement with Roman..
This last year we made it through the first year of school which wasn't the easiest as you can see my recent Roman's kindergarten graduation post, but nonetheless he is incredible and we're so proud of him and how amazingly he continued to adapt to the newness. Year two (1st grade. Yes there will be a blog soon on it. Haha) is coming up on us and while it's scary and hard to think about his adjusting and having to go through it again. I know he has got this and will get better at the newness.
At his first field trip to the park! |
Mornings when we got to the school parking lot early Roman would climb up front in the car with me and spend the morning bonding before going into school. <3 |
He is coming up on two years of "karate" (Taekwondo). The first year was mainly a basics/exercise class which helped with socializing with others as well as learning to listen to an instructor while following instructions. In January his class was moved up to belts and testings. By early March he was testing to move up from white belt to orange belt and passed! Covid threw off our karate schedule, but he has recently been back at it. He is doing so well with it again and already has three stripes on the orange belt!
White Belt: "Pure and without the knowledge of Songahm Taewondo. As with the Pine Tree, the seed must now be planted and nourished to develop strong roots."
Orange Belt: "The sun is beginning to rise. As with the morning's dawn, only the beauty if the sunrise is seen rather than the immense power."
His love for Axel has grown more and more over the year. They're best of buddies now and can't go long without doing something together. There are countless fights, but seeing him teach Axel or care for him when he gets hurt makes my heart burst every time.
Happy Birthday, honey bun! You're such a strong, intelligent, caring, stubborn, handsome, and insanely funny little boy. Oh, the places you will go! I love you!
