Starting The Seeds | Garden 2022
It's that time of the year to start showing the process of my summer love, my garden. I really let that love go last year. I fell into a really dark spot for a while and when I came to my garden was dying and there wasn't much saving I could do. I felt so guilty and disappointed. When I finally let the guilt go it turned into this overwhelming excitement for my next garden. Here I am - months later planting my seeds later than I wanted due to the weather and sweating that it might be a rough garden year already.
Update - I gave the rest of May my full attention in the garden each morning. I was falling into a depression so I took every morning into the garden to tend to it and my mental health. With my latte and book in hand, I would soak up the late spring weather while watching my garden bloom. And by bloom, I mean none of my seeds were sprouting so I caved for some starter plants from a local nursery. We picked up a few tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, and jalapeno. I told myself I would have a thriving garden this year so I wasn't going to let the April weather or lack of seeds hold me back. The starters are doing amazing and really lifted my spirits. It looks like my first pickings will be in June or July but I'm just admiring my plant's beauty for now. It has also helped my mental health so much. Plus, some of my seeds are starting to sprout! Not all - but my cherry tomatoes and cucumbers are coming through so I'm thrilled! I can't wait to update with more progress. xx
