Pumpkins & Halloween 2017
Above is our pet ghost "Havaa" in a jar. (Roman named him last year) |
I love the fall season so much, but Halloween makes it that much more enjoyable! We have plenty of holiday traditions, but for Halloween it's more simple and I like that. We watch so many Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus (about 376465 times), The Addams Family, Frankenweenie, A Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, and more! We also have a little collection of Halloween books that we read every year with the boys. My favorite part of fall time is all of our annual trips. The beginning of October we go to the St. Louis Zoo (I'll link that blog below). Around mid-month we visit Beggs Family Farm (I'll link that blog below) to pick out our pumpkins. Our next trip (that we've done for the past two years) is the Lazy L Safari (that blog is coming soon). I hope you enjoy the rest of this blog that includes a few more of our family traditions and way too many adorable pictures of our boys.
The Ghost of Roman & Axel of 2016 |
Pumpkin Carving:
We carve pumpkins and roast the seeds every year! Axel got in on the fun this year and Roman helped out "gutting" his pumpkin way more than he did last year. We have so much fun and it's so nice to spend this time together as a family. We also get to be creative and try to carve the best pumpkins! I'm so thankful the boys will have these memories growing up.
Halloween & Costumes:
Halloween this year was a tough one. Our poor little AJ was coming down with a sickness and just didn't feel good. Instead of going out of town to be with more family, we decided it would be best for him to stick close to home. He was a trooper while bubby got to trick-or-treat. We walked a couple miles around our neighborhood and they both loved it. This was our first year taking Roman door-to-door trick-or-treating. Our hometown does a downtown event and that's where we went the previous years. Roman dressed as Gekko (From Pj Masks) and Axel was Mickey Mouse. By time we got home Axel fell asleep, but Roman had way too much candy. A week or so later (when no-one was sick) I was able to get some super cute pictures of them in their costumes. I love these boys so much! Their smiles make my heart melt!
Pumpkin Painting:
With how awful sickness (literally sickness after sickness) was on us for the last couple of weeks we got behind on our traditions and was finally able to paint our white pumpkins. The boys had an absolute blast while Mommy stressed about the paint getting everywhere! I do believe we have little artists on our hands. My husband did his Harry Potter themed for this classroom and I decided to try my hand at giving my pumpkin a makeover. It turned out a little rough, but I have to say her highlight and brows were on "fleek."
What are some of your family holiday traditions? Christmas is right around the corner, so you'll be seeing a lot more of these family blogs. Below is our trips to the St. Louis Zoo and Beggs Family Farm.
