Sirtfood Green Juice & Chocolate Sirt Bites \\ Sirtfood

Sirtfood Green Juice & Chocolate Bites \\ Sirtfood

I recently started the sirtfood diet and since I'm sharing my journey of it with you I wanted to include the recipes I'm using as I go. I do have a blog on celery juice that I love and made before starting the sirtfood, but this green juice is a little different with added ingredients. The sirt bites I am sharing with you, but I never got a finished picture of them because after making them I couldn't bring myself to eat them. Ha! The juice is good though (not as good as my celery juice, but still doable if you like fresh juice) and really is key to this diet especially the first 3 days.

Sirtfood Green Juice

  • 3oz. kale
  • 1oz rocket (aka arugula)
  • 5g flat-leaf parsley
  • 5oz. celery, including leaves
  • 1/2 medium green apple
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2tsp matcha green tea

I juice all the ingredients together with the Breville Juice Fountain Plus. The matcha powder is the energy boost that you're replacing coffee/caffeine with. It's also recommended to put matcha just in the morning juices or early afternoon juices so the energy doesn't affect your sleep schedule.

This recipe is 1 serving size. I will list the 7 day juice schedule below. It is a lot of produce to juice, but it is one of the biggest factors in this diet/lifestyle. It's very important to make it work too.

Juice Schedule:

Day 1-3: 3 juices

Day 4-7: 2 juices

Day 7+: 1 juice a day

Sirtfood Bites (makes 15-20 bites)

  • 4 oz. walnuts
  • 1oz. dark chocolate , broken into pieces, or cocoa nibs
  • 8oz. dates, pitted
  • 1tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1tbsp ground turmeric
  • 1tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1tsp vanilla extract

First you make a fine powder of the dark chocolate and walnuts in a food processor. I used my small Ninja one, but would recommend a larger processor for these as this almost burnt up my Ninja motor!
You add all remaining ingredients to the mix and blend them up until well mixed. I had a hard time with the consistency.. The chocolate and turmeric also threw me off. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate.
You roll them out as chocolate balls and can add a little water if they're too thick to roll out.
These are supposed to be eaten cold or frozen. I personally didn't try them. My husband and others that have said they aren't bad, but also not amazing either. Ha!
The idea of these are your snacks for the first 3 days. Otherwise it is only juice throughout the day until the one meal. It's recommended, but not mandatory since, like I said, I didn't have them.
You are only allowed them the first three days, but they stay good in the fridge up to a week.
