Festive Puppy Chow & Cake Balls | Bake With Me

Baking is one of my favorites for the holiday season so I wanted to share some of the baked goods I did. I usually do more, but these two are normally my favorites!

Puppy Chow

Ingredients:

1 box Chex cereal
2 c. peanut butter
4 blocks of chocolate almond bark
powdered sugar
festive sprinkles

How-To:

I made two batches this year so I split the box of cereal in half.
I mixed 1 c. of peanut butter with 2 blocks white chocolate almond bark and the other c. of peanut butter with 2 blocks milk chocolate almond bark.
They have to be melted together in a microwave bowl or in a saucepan on the stove.
Then pour the chocolate/peanut butter mixture over Chex cereal
I then let it sit to room temperature before mixing in powdered sugar - which is always a guess on how much. You want them coated well.
Store in a container and for a festive moment add holiday sprinkles! It's so easy to make and so delish!

Cake Balls

Ingredients:

chocolate cake mix -baked according to box
chocolate icing
chocolate almond bark
sprinkles

How-To:

First bake the cake normally according to the box and then let cool.
This part feels so wrong, but you mash up the cake and add the whole tub of icing and mix them together well.
Roll them out into balls on wax paper and then to make the next step 10x easier place the balls into the freezer to chill them completely.
Once they had some time to chill you can melt your chocolate.
Roll the balls into the chocolate and if you want to add sprinkles you may want to soon after because the chocolate hardens fast on the chilled cake balls.
I know it's a lot of chocolate, but I LOVE them this way. There is so many ways/flavors to make cake balls so just play around with it and I'll try to make different flavors in the future for you.
