Globe Ornaments | Ornament Making

Globe Ornaments | Ornament Making

Another day, another ornament blog. I'm obsessed this year and still have my salt dough ornaments coming, but if you want to check out the hand painted ornaments that you may see in this blog you can in my other Ornament Making blog. Today we are talking about plastic and/or glass ornaments. I went with plastic because these are for my little boys trees and with the mention of "little boys" I'm sure you got it.

I have done glass in the past as well, but I do find it to be quite easier with the plastic route and if you're like me and you're cringing at the "plastic" part I recommend buying what you know you will use and what you don't you can give as gifts!

There are two categories with these that I did. Stuffers and glitter.

For my stuffers/fillers I went the snow route for Roman's Snowman Tree and chose the tiny foam beads and also snow (with flakes) confetti. I mixed both in them and it really gave them a winter wonderland vibe for sure! Plus they're super simple because it is literally the ornament and two stuffers to make it.

For Roman's glitter ornaments I went the plain white glitter route, but it just wasn't enough. So I added some of the confetti I mentioned before to them and decided to add some vinyl (a snowman & a snowflake) to them in the end to add a little more to them. I use a Cricut so that process is simple if you have one. If not you can also use stickers if you can find them for your theme! They were super easy with glue, glitter, confetti, and vinyl sticker to wrap them up. I can say with the confetti these looked incredible, but if you do the glue and glitter alone make sure you're careful with how much glue you add and I suggest moving them every so often as they dry. I made that mistake with Axel's glitter ones.

With Axel's Grinch Tree I went a different way. I had this grinch set that I mention in his tree blog that I was cutting up for the topper anyways, but I would be left with this awkward piece of fabric that was once a beard (haha) and wanted to use every bit of it so I cut it into two and stuffed the ornament. SO SIMPLE, yet so adorable!

For the glitter, like I mentioned above I had a harder time with the glue and green glitter alone. Once I thought it was dry I found a puddle of non dry glue and glitter at the side of just one. I was able to swear it around to "fix it," but it was still frustrating so take the advice I gave before and save yourself the hassle. Once those were finished I added some vinyl grinch face outlines.

They're not only super simple and easy, but so special to us since they're handmade too! One of a kind is always the best decor! Do you make your own ornaments? xo
